I am so happy to be introducing a new launch from Free People's Vintage Loves. It is called Rock and Roll Caravan. This collection is filled with rare one-of-a-kind finds that are a mix of vintage and rock and roll. I adore sweet vintage pieces mixed with a little edge so this collection is by far one of my favorites. This collection features some of my favorite things that involves leather, fringe, tutu, and vintage band tees. Here is an interview I had the pleasure of having with Ali, Free People Vintage Buyer about her selections for this new collection! I hope all of you love this collection as much as I do.
Spokesperson: Ali, Free People Vintage Buyer
1. What is your own personal style?
Ali: I tend to think of myself as east meets west. I’m and old school urban cowgirl with a lot of hippie in me.
2. What makes your designs different from everyone else?
Ali: I love to buy cool vintage pieces that will accessorize a girl’s Free People look. We’re also open to customizing our vintage finds, making them something you won’t find anywhere else. This time around, in addition to offering rare vintage finds, our designers thought it would be cool to actually use the authentic vintage band tees that inspire many of their Free People graphics. I loved the idea, so we teamed up and reworked them to create amazing one-of-a-kind dresses.
3. Where do you look for inspiration?
Ali: The fuel for each item in the Rock and Roll Caravan collection was supplied by many, but it is my friends here at Free People that continue to inspire me every day. Their homes, lives, and style reveal a way of living that is unpretentious, unexpected, and all their own. Most of all, I like bringing new ideas to the table. This collection pays homage to the rock and roll lifestyle of style icons like Stevie Nicks, Patti Smith, Jimi Hendrix, Marianne Faithfull, Ossie Clark, and represents my work as a traveler and a collector.
